Prof. Manabendu Banerji, the General Secretary of The Asiatic Society, Kolkata and Founder Trustee of CESIPS passed away 19th Feb 2016. He was a great Indologist, author of many publications in various fields of Sanskrit including literature, Dharmashastra, Iconography etc.etc. and an able administrator. He was looking after the pioneer institutions like the Asiatic Society and the Sanskrit Sahityaparishad for a long time. A perfect gentleman of noble virtue who commanded high regards in the society.
CESIPS mourns the passing away of this great scholar and expresses condolences to his family members.
